You Do Not Have a Content Problem. You Have a Conversion Problem
I spent 2 years on LinkedIn without a lead magnet. It was one of the biggest mistakes I made here.
Every day people liked my posts. Commented. DMed me. And then nothing happened, because the only thing I had to offer them was a full engagement at full price. That is like proposing on the first date.
If you are posting consistently and your inbox is still quiet, your content is probably fine. You just have nowhere to send the people who are interested but not ready.
A newsletter alone is not enough.
I thought it was. Newsletters, even good ones, are a dime a dozen, and "sign up for my newsletter" asks a reader to give you something now for a maybe later. A newsletter works beautifully as step 2. It does not work as your only step.
Give away something they can use today.
My first lead magnet that actually worked was templates for my top 100 posts. Not a quiz. Not a 40-page PDF an AI wrote in 9 seconds. Templates somebody could open and use that afternoon. Look at what you have already built for clients: the checklist, the spreadsheet, the onboarding questions, the pricing worksheet. Most of the time your best lead magnet is already sitting on your hard drive.
Build the whole path, not just the front door.
Posts get attention. The lead magnet turns attention into an email address. Email builds trust over weeks. The offer closes. Skip a step and the path leaks. Inbound leads convert at roughly 14 to 15%. Cold outreach converts at around 1.7%. When you connect the steps into 1 ecosystem, that number can climb toward 22%.
A good lead magnet does more than collect emails. It pre-qualifies buyers, it builds trust before anybody gets on a call, and it proves you know your work instead of claiming you do.
Content gets attention. Lead magnets get opportunity.
I don't want to be another newsletter in your inbox. I want to be an actionletter. In every edition, I'll include a "Go-and-Do" below to help you take an action step TODAY that improves your LinkedIn™ performance, your business, or even your life.
THE GO-AND-DO
Open the folder where you keep client files. Find 1 document you have already made that a stranger would pay for, and strip it into a version you can give away. You do not have to build it this week. Name it today.
One More Thing - The LinkedIn™ Spark Community
If today's edition resonated, you'd love the room I built for people who want to take this seriously.
The LinkedIn™ Spark Community is for people who want three things most LinkedIn advice doesn't deliver together: education, accountability, and real networking.
Inside, we focus on:
· LinkedIn strategy that actually moves the needle
· How to become a sharper writer (because writing is the work)
· Content systems, not content luck
· Guest speakers, "hot seat" sessions, and presentations from members themselves
You also get one 1:1 call with me per quarter. This is not a group where you post once and disappear. It's a community where people show up, sharpen each other, and build the kind of presence that compounds.
