How I moved 52 people into my pipeline
I moved 52 people into my pipeline in one week. Here's exactly how.
But first, two confessions because I got this wrong twice before I got it right.
For my first two years on LinkedIn, I sent zero connection requests. Not one. I told myself I'd let the work speak for itself. Translation: I left the front door locked and wondered why nobody came in.
Then I overcorrected. I started maxing out my connection requests every single day. No strategy, no notes, just volume. It felt productive. It produced nothing.
After five years, here's the strategy that actually works for me. It's almost embarrassingly simple:
➜ Find 10 people I'd genuinely like to connect with. ➜ Send the connection request. ➜ Always include a note. ➜ Comment on their last post.
That fourth step is the one most people skip. The note opens the door. The comment proves you actually walked through it.
Here's a version of the note I send:
"Thanks for connecting! I help people by ghostwriting their LinkedIn posts in their voice, with their stories. If you have any questions about LinkedIn, feel free to DM them to me. Happy to help however I can!"
Soft. On purpose.
People will tell you to go harder. To pitch in the first message. To "create urgency." I'm not going any harder than this, and I never will. It's not who I am, and it's not how trust gets built.
Here's what those steps produced over 5 days:
➜ 52 people added to my network ➜ 8 LinkedIn-related questions in my DMs ➜ 4 requests to book calls
And the best part? I stayed completely true to who I am and what I'm comfortable doing. No ick. No pretending to be a different person to make the math work.
The strategy isn't the secret. The consistency is. Ten people. Every day. A note every time.
"I don't want to be another newsletter in your inbox. I want to be an actionletter. In every edition, I'll include a 'Go-and-Do' [below] to help you take an action step TODAY that improves your LinkedIn™ performance, your business, or even your life."
Go and Do:
Today, find 10 people you'd genuinely like to know. Send each a connection request with a note. Then comment on their most recent post.
Do it for 5 days straight and count what comes back. Not connections, conversations.

One More Thing — The LinkedIn™ Spark Community
If today's edition resonated, you'd love the room I built for people who want to take this seriously.
The LinkedIn™ Spark Community is for people who want three things most LinkedIn advice doesn't deliver together: education, accountability, and real networking.
Inside, we focus on:
· LinkedIn strategy that actually moves the needle
· How to become a sharper writer (because writing is the work)
· Content systems, not content luck
· Guest speakers, "hot seat" sessions, and presentations from members themselves
You also get one 1:1 call with me per quarter. This is not a group where you post once and disappear. It's a community where people show up, sharpen each other, and build the kind of presence that compounds.
