The Average Post Gets 100–3,500 Impressions. Here's How to Beat It.
The average LinkedIn™ post lands somewhere between 100 and 3,500 impressions.
That's a wide range. And I have no idea where it puts you.
But if you want to beat the average — not match it, beat it — there's no secret waiting to be unlocked. There's just the work most people won't do.
Here's what I'd do:
Have a personality.
This is the one thing you can't outsource to AI. The second your writing sounds like everyone else's, you become wallpaper. Personality is what the algorithm can't replicate and your competitor can't copy.
Comment on new profiles every time you're online.
Not the same five people on repeat. New ones. Every single session.
Comment daily — and make them count.
12+ words. Real thoughts. Not "Great post! 🔥"
Here's the part most people skip right over: impressions are connected to comments. The conversations you start in other people's sections pull eyes back to you.
Stop selling better. Sell different.
Everyone in your niche is busy trying to out-polish each other. You don't win that race by being slightly better. You win by being unmistakably different.
Post 3x a week. Same days. Same time.
Consistency isn't a personality trait. It's a system. Pick your days, pick your time, and show up like it's a standing appointment — because it is.
Tell the same stories over and over, from different angles.
You don't need infinite ideas. You need a handful of true ones you can keep turning over.
Focus on the symptoms of your audience's pain — not the diagnosis.
Most people can't name their own pain points. But they feel the symptoms: the unanswered DMs, the pipeline that won't fill, the posts that go nowhere. Speak to what they feel, not the clinical label you'd give it.
Can you be successful on LinkedIn™ without all of this?
Sure.
But that's not what this is about. If you want impressions, you put in the work. The unsexy, repeatable, show-up-anyway work.
That's the whole thing. There isn't a shortcut hiding behind it.
I don't want to be another newsletter in your inbox. I want to be an actionletter. In every edition, I'll include a "Go-and-Do" [below] to help you take an action step TODAY that improves your LinkedIn™ performance, your business, or even your life.
Go and Do:
This Thursday, I'm running a FREE webinar where I walk through exactly how to put all of this into motion — how to grow your impressions without burning out or sounding like a robot.
