The Real Reason You’re Not Gaining Momentum on LinkedIn
A client of mine once told me a story I’ve never forgotten. (He’s the co-founder of Kajabi—so when he talks, I listen.)
It was a story about half-bridges.
Imagine you’re standing on the mainland. The island of success is off in the distance. That’s where you want to be:
-
Posting with confidence
-
Growing your audience
-
Building your business
-
Scaling your voice
So you start trying:
→ A couple of posts here and there
→ A handful of thoughtful comments
→ Logging on… when you have time
But nothing’s working.
You're frustrated.
You're ready to quit—again.
You start to wonder if LinkedIn only works for influencers with selfies and a ring light.
[Pause for dramatic eye roll.]
But the real issue?
You’ve only built half-bridges.
You’ve made little starts without full commitment.
You haven’t:
-
Scheduled consistent time to post
-
Invested in coaching or strategy
-
Created a system that supports momentum
I say this with total empathy—because I’ve been there.
For my first two years on LinkedIn, I built half-bridges.
It wasn’t until I circled a date on the calendar and said:
✔ I’m in this for the next 6 months
✔ I’ll write 7 posts in advance
✔ I’ll show up daily and be helpful
That’s when I built my first full bridge.
I’m still crossing it. But I’m not stuck anymore.
If you really want to be successful on LinkedIn (or in business in general), stop the half-hearted, half-committed, half-built bridge approach. Go all in on a strategy, and see what you’re capable of.
Here’s a free resource to help you build that bridge!
Reflection Question:
What’s something you quit that you wish you hadn’t?
(For me? Violin lessons.)
Hit reply—I’d love to hear.
