The Latest LinkedIn Trend I Won’t Be Participating In
LinkedIn is personal.
It’s your digital legacy.
It’s how you demonstrate what you know.
It’s how you remember where you’ve been.
But too many of us?
Are taking LinkedIn personally.
There’s a difference between something being personal and taking it personally.
And a lot of people are stuck on the wrong side of that line.
The Complaining Trend
It’s loud out there.
“Reach is down!”
“There’s too much AI!”
“Too many girls posting selfies!”
“Too many guys flexing with lies!”
And here’s the truth:
Yeah. You’re probably right.
But also…
1. You Can Curate Your Feed
LinkedIn’s algorithm shows you what you teach it to show you.
Who you engage with.
What you click.
What you comment on.
If your feed is full of noise, that’s a signal.
Not a sentence.
2. You Can Build Real Relationships
Take comments into DMs.
Take DMs into Zoom calls.
And if you’re feeling extra bold? Meet someone face-to-face.
This platform is only as good as the relationships you build on it.
3. You Can Get a Strategy
If you’re on LinkedIn all day, every break, endlessly scrolling —
of course you’re going to be annoyed.
But with a clear engagement strategy, you can:
-
Maximize your time
-
Build a real network
-
Log off without resentment
LinkedIn isn’t broken.
Most people just don’t have a plan.
Go and Do
I don't want to be another newsletter in your inbox. I want to be an actionletter. In every edition, I'll include a "Go-and-Do" [below] to help you take an action step TODAY that improves your LinkedIn™ performance, your business, or even your life.
-
Scroll for 5 minutes and identify 3 accounts that light you up — follow or engage with them more.
-
Mute or unfollow 3 accounts that drain your energy.
-
Comment intentionally on 2 posts today, not passively.
Curate your feed.
Make friends.
Use strategy.
The “X” in the corner is always just one click away.
But building something better is too.
