How to Get + Keep Great Post Ideas

Post ideas can come from anywhere. And you probably don't have a problem thinking of them ... but you DO have a problem remembering them.

Here are a few ways I keep track of post ideas:

1. Notes App

-It's not sexy and doesn't use AI, but I have a note labeled "LinkedIn Ideas" that I've been using for years. An idea comes up, I search "LinkedIn" in the app, and I write down the idea.

2. Screenshots AND LinkedIn Album

-A lot of people take screenshots of post ideas, but have you created a "LinkedIn posts" album on your phone? It's easy to snap a pic and move it to the album immediately for quick access.

3. Shield Analytics

-I've tried all the paid analytics platforms out there, and Sheild is my favorite. [No, they do not sponsor me.] I like to sort my posts from 90+ days ago in order of most and least impressions. The "most" are definitely repeat post ideas. The "least" make me ask - "How can I edit this post to make it more effective?" That's IF I still stand by the post idea.

I don't want to be another newsletter in your inbox. I want to be an actionletter. In every edition, I'll include a "Go-and-Do" [below] to help you take an action step TODAY that improves your LinkedIn™ perormance, your business, or even your life.

The Go-and-Do:

Pick one system today and set it up.

For example, if you like the Notes App idea, open your phone, create a note titled LinkedIn Ideas, and add your first post idea right now. If the screenshot method resonates, make a new photo album called LinkedIn Posts and move one screenshot into it.

The key is to start small, choose just one method, and actually set up the system so your next idea has a place to live.

10 lessons on writing...
I've been a writing for aliving for almost 20 years. Here are 10 things I've learned: 1. To be a "writer," the qualifications are simple: You write. 2. Writing well is hard. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't been writing long enough. 3. You don't have to write linearly. If you know where you want to land, start with the last sentence ("punchline" or "reveal") and build around it. 4. Writing is t...
1 truth to accept about LinkedIn™...
One truth we should all accept about LinkedIn: You can post daily. You can post helpfully. You can post strategically. You can post aesthetically. You can follow all the LinkedIn-lebrities and do every single thing they tell you to do. ... and still not become "famous" on LinkedIn. It's not going to happen for everyone. Cold, hard facts. But also ... facts that may set you free a little? Becaus...
